This year marked the 7th annual Blog Societies Conference. It is a blogger conference where you can learn, grow, and network for your blogging business. The Blog Societies Conference is put on by Poor Little It Girl and My Style Vita.

It was a jam packed weekend with so many opportunities to learn more about the blogging business.

You should just go for it. TBSCON

On the first day was a Friday night networking event. We were able to meet with brand such as Marc Fisher, Grayson, La Croix, Kendra Scott, Joules, Essie, Yankee Candle and many more. This was a fun night as we were able to fill up our swag bags with so many goodies!

Our flight arrived in Georgia at 3pm and the resort was about an hour and a half away from the airport. Once we got our car and made the trek, we arrived at 5:55pm and the event started at 6pm.

Lesson learn: aim for an early flight to be fully prepared.

After networking we were able to grab our food buffet style and sit out with the other blogger attendees to mingle and connect more.

The second day of the Blog Societies conference started early as breakfast was at 8:00am. Breakfast was sponsored by La Croix. It was in the part of the resort called the ruins. The ruins was so pretty. After breakfast we headed to our scheduled workshops.

After you purchased the conference ticket an email questionnaire was sent out asking which courses we would like to take. We were able to pick which courses we would like learn more about.

The courses ranged from pitching, legal information, photography, SEO, and others. We were able to choose a total of 4.

Workshops

The morning was split up by two workshops, followed by a lunch, and then 2 more workshops.

I chose these workshops: How to Organize & Streamline your Business, Perfecting the Art of Pitching, SEO Strategy to Grow your Organic Searches, and How to Leverage Email marketing.

Marc Fisher sponsored lunch at the Barnsley Resort.

The lunch was sponsored by Marc Fisher. They gave a short presentation and then we mingled with our fellow bloggers.

After all of the break out sessions, their was an option to participate in either a cookie decorating class or a floral arrangement class.

I ended up taking the floral arrangements class. It was taught by Petal and Fold. She did such a great job showing us how to make our own arrangements. I cannot wait to put these into action at home too.

Dinner was sponsored by Yankee Candle. The dinner was lovely! All of the tables were adorned with Yankee Candle’s fall capsule called Farmer’s Market. It was a really nice dinner and afterwards we were able to pick out some of our favorite scents to take home.

Day 3

On the last day, which was a Sunday, breakfast was at 8:15am and then their were speakers lined up for the next few hours until noon. We were able to listen to Matt from Podia, a business that helps you build online courses. Your Social Team which taught us all about instagram, and Brittany who taught us all of the legal requirements of the blogging side.

All of the workshops were informative and I feel like I learned so much!

  • Do the hardest biggest task at the beginning of the week.
