I was able to have a girls night with a good friend this past Thursday. I love girls night out! It is a much needed break from all of the demands of being a mom. I feel that it is important to have that time for yourself. I am all for self care. I never wanted to be the type of person who lost herself once she became a mom. Therefore, I go to the gym weekly, praise the Lord for gym childcare lol. I do it for me. I started this blog for me. I will tell this story sometime later. Don’t get me wrong. I love my kids with all of my heart and some day they will grow up and leave my nest, and I will be able to see all that I worked for unfold before my eyes both with my kids and with the goals I have for myself. I can wait for that day, but it also helps me keep focused now.

The exhibit is at the Museum of Fine Arts in downtown Houston. It is a ticketed event and It cost $25. I am not sure that the cost is for members, I think it might be free but don’t hold me to it.

All of the dresses are so pretty! They each are unique and they each have such different details. His work is truly amazing! He has designed gowns for countless actresses and a slew of other famous people. Some of the dresses featured were worn by people like Taylor Swift, and Amal Clooney. He would design clothes for his wife and step-daughter as well. How cool is that?!

“What I try to do in my design is to make a woman dream.”– Oscar De La Renta

I do hope that you were able to catch some of the video clips I posted on my Instastories. I had such a great time looking at and imagining what it would be like to wear one of these gorgeous gowns. I hope that  you are able to make it to the exhibit to see for yourself as well.

Afterwards, my friend and I grabbed some dinner at Oporto Fooding House and Wine. I had never been before. It was so cute inside! I love the set up. In the back you could see the kitchen as well as the brick oven. Most of the menu items were about $14, they were higher or lower depending on the item. I decided to go for pizza, I wasn’t up for some of the other menu items. They all looked amazing especially the lamb meatballs. I picked a pesto, basil, and fresh mozzarella pizza. It was so delicious! We also split a charcuterie board. Ours was made of Salchichon Iberico Bellota, Coppa Piccante for the meats, and Pata Cabra, Alva for the cheeses. Everything was so delicious! I recommend you check it out.

XO,

Jenni
