10 Easy DIY Stoney Clover dupes: Amazon finds

Hi friends! Are you a fan of Stoney Clover Lane and all of their cute custom products? I am but I have a hard time justifying the price. Well, I am here for you babe! I am sharing with you how you can make your own Stoney Clover dupes at a fraction of the price. Better yet, many of these items can be found on Amazon! If you are new here, Amazon is a fan favorite around here.

I promise this will be very simple and you only need a handful of items to make your Stoney Clover dupes. Recently, my mom and I went to the Nutcracker market and shopped until we dropped. As we were shopping we came across a shop that was offering custom chenille patches on sweaters. My heart jumped because I had seen similar chenille patches on the Stoney Clover lane website. I quickly got in line and picked out my sweatshirt and first and last initials to make my own Stoney Clover dupe!

I ended up paying $35 which wasn’t too bad, from then I was on a mission to make more of these at home. Here’s what I found and what you will need to make your own.

If you are ready to make your Stoney clover dupes? Get your DIY hands ready. First, you have to find the patches. As mentioned, these can be found on Amazon. Here are some of the ones that I have used to make my diy letter patch products.

One thing to note: these patches are on the chunkier side as opposed to chenille patches that are on the thinner and longer side. If those are the patches that you prefer, there are many options on Etsy. Secondly, the ones from Amazon can sometimes have an odd smell to them. Gross right?! To fix this, after you apply them to your products such as a sweatshirt, throw it in the wash. For the products that cannot be washed it might be better for you to purchase the ones from Etsy.

Once you have found the chenille patches that you want to use the next thing you will need is the products that you will want to add them too. I have used a variety of items from sweatshirts to cosmetic bags. I will add a few of the ones that I have used and a few other options as well.

You will also need an iron or heat press and glue if attaching to non-fabric items.

Iron on patch instructions

There are 2 ways that you can add your chenille patches to your items. The first one is using iron on patches. These are the ones that I have been using from Amazon. They are iron on and have worked really well. The patches come ready to use. All you need after that is an iron and a thin towel to place on top of the patch so that it doesn’t burn. Add the patch and iron for 30 seconds. If you have a heat press, make sure you use a Teflon sheet on top of the patches. Heat your press to 300 and press for 30 seconds.

For certain items you may have to add another towel on the inside during application for reinforcement. For instance, I added a few iron on chenille patches to a travel cosmetic bag and the corners of the patch were not sticking. I added a folded towel inside to add counter pressure and it fixed the issue. The corners as well as the whole patch attached to the bag.

Adhesive patch instructions

For the adhesive patches, it’s as simple as peeling off the backing of the patch and placing it on the desired item. I would recommend putting these types of patches on plastics, vinyl, or other items that will not be washed. Another option is to use a heavy duty glue such as E6000 to the back of the patch and secure on to the item.

I have found the adhesive patches on Etsy. Make sure you read the description to be certain that the patch is not an iron on patch.

The options are endless

There are so many options! I have made sweatshirts for myself and as gifts for my family. Canvas totes, cosmetic bags, and tee shirts. One of the latest items that I added the chenille patches to was this travel cosmetic bag. This bag has been so helpful when traveling. It has 4 compartments for your mini hygiene products with straps to hold them down. It also has a hook to hang it up too.

You can also add them to denim jackets and backpacks. The options are truly endless. Move over Stoney Clover Lane, these dupes are here to stay.
