If you don’t already know this, I have 3 boys. They keep me on my toes that’s for sure. Today’s post is all about toys for Christmas. These toys were picked out for different reasons, mainly we own and love them. I hope you enjoy this toy gift guide.

With so many other toys in the house its good to have toys like these that will keep them busy and help their minds grow. Kids today love all things technology and I am all for it but sometimes I like for my kids to play with physical toys. Ones that help stimulate there cute little noggins differently than technology would. With that said, here are a few of our favorite toys for kids that aren’t technology related.

Shapemags

Toy gift guide: The Fashionable Maven

Earlier this year we were gifted a set of Shapemags. My kids had already owned a set of magformers. They rarely played with them, I don’t know why, but they love these so much more.

My son’s will play with these for a least an hour minimum, not like with other toys were they get bored with quickly. The boys love making all kinds of new creations with these magnetic blocks. We are planning on getting more for Christmas to add to our collection.

What I love about them is that they come in so many colors and different shapes. They also come in different kit sizes too. This is the set we have. It comes with 120 pieces.

We have made all kinds of creations including a maze for our hamster.

Mini Digital Camera

Have a little aspiring photographer? My 3 year old son loves to use my old phone to take pictures of all the items in our house including our dog. The only thing is that phone is connected to my iCloud and they show up on my current phone. Cue this little camera.

It comes with a 16gb memory card and the cord to upload them. It also comes with a detachable lanyard.

I will say I haven’t actually uploaded the pictures to my laptop yet so I cannot vouch for the picture quality, but I don’t think it is amazing, think back in the day flip phone camera quality.

This mini camera has video capabilities and a game too. You use the buttons to toggle through the features. It is not touch screen.

My 3 year old loves it and I don’t have to worry about all those iCloud pictures. He just loves being able to take pictures of what he loves! If you have a slightly older child the Fujifilm instant cameras are hit as well. This Polaroid instant camera is so cute too!

Books

Every Christmas we buy our kids books. I want them to love reading as much as I do. [I need to read more than IG post :)]

These are a few of our faves:

  • The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors
  • Dragons Love Tacos
  • Anything Pete the Cat
  • The Day the Crayons Quit
  • The Bad Seed
  • LMNO Peas

Personalized Name Puzzles

We don’t own any of these yet, but they are in my cart right now. These name puzzle would make a great gift for a toddler and pre-school. (I have 2 of those.)

It helps them learn to recognize the letters in there name as well as the order. It is also great for learning fine motor skills. This sounds like a winner to me.

Lite Brite

Do you remember these as a kid? If not, you make me feel old. I used to love my Lite Bright! This Christmas I bought one for my kids. I can’t wait to enjoy it with them. I just had to add this one to my toy gift guide!

Train set

We have had this wooden train set for years. The kids love putting the track together and being able to make it all the ways.

Plus Plus Building Blocks

Plus Plus are tiny building blocks that are all shaped as plus signs. We recently found out about them at a specialty toy store. They come in tubes, which can be found in many different sizes.

They can come in a variety of colors or you can buy a themed tube which can me a certain figure like a shark or an elf.

What I like about them is they are different and cute. These are meant for 4 plus years old as they could pose a choking hazard.

Personalized Book

When my oldest son was 3 a friend bought him a personalized book. It was called the boy who lost is name. The boy searches long and far to find out what his name is and at the end of the book it ends up being personalized as your child’s name.

They offer books for boys and girls. It was a really cute and thoughtful gift. My son loved it! There are so many different story lines now days.

Hooray Heroes the place that was used to make ours. I need to purchase some for my other sons too!

Some of our other favorites include Nerf guns, Legos, Tv character toys, and anything superheroes. I hope that this toy gift guide helps you find the perfect gift for your little one!
