Now when I say ombré , I don’t mean ombré on one nail. I mean ombre from thumb to pinkie finger. One different shade on each finger ombre style.

Read this post on self-care for moms.

This has been one of my new favorite trends because there are so many ways it can be done and with so many different shades.

Olive and June

For my nails, I am using a brand called Olive and June. I first heard about them when I attended a Create and Cultivate conference. The CEO was one of the panel speakers.

Olive and June is a newer brand of nail polish that is changing the traditional at home manicure. They are based in California and their products are made in Korea.

There is also a nail salon in California as well. It is on my list to visit when I travel there.

The big premise of Olive and June is a 7 free long lasting nail polish. There nail polish is made to last 7 days without chipping! I was gifted the new fall set to try for myself and I can attest to the statement.

How to Choose Colors

There are so many fun colors to use during fall. Oranges, browns, nudes, grays, burgundy, dark green, black and navy are all cute ombre nails fall colors.

When choosing colors for ombre nails choose colors that are in the same color palette. Depending on what kind of look you want, you could choose 3 light to medium colors and 2 darker colors or vice versa.

Tip: Be sure to notice the undertones of the colors you are choosing for your palette.

Ombre Fall Nails

For my nails I like to use more lighter colors and 2 darker one. I am using the colors from thumb to pinkie: RP, ECC, HZ, JG, SC from the Fall Hustle collection.

For a green palette, I chose white, a nude color, a pale green, medium green, and a dark forest green.

A gray palette I used a nude, ECC, RP, AW, and dark gray.

For the nails below I used Essie Blanc on my thumb, ECC, HZ, RP, and AW.

Stopping to drool over this ring! It is a 3 caret diamond from Tacorri. The setting itself cost $12k! I was able to try it on at an event. I thought what a great accessory for my ombre nails.

Steps to Painting Ombre nails

  1. Decide if you want to start with the darker colors first or the lighter colors.
  2. Line up the 5 colors in the order you want to paint them.
  3. Once you have decided, then starting with your thumb choose the color that is lighter or darker (depending) and paint your thumb and then paint the index finger the next color, and continue down until you are at your pinkie and the fifth color.
  4. Paint the other hand.
  5. Add the second coat to both hands.
  6. Finish with a top coat.
