League Park in League City
While you are visiting Helen park hop on over to League Park. It is adjacent to Helen Park. I recently went here for photos. They have a old stationary train that they started to decorate for Christmas. This is one of the cutest setups in Houston. There are tends to be quite a few people that visit on the weekend especially before sunset but if you get there a little earlier you should still be able to take good pictures since it is a shaded by a large tree. They also have a cute gazebo that they decorate as well. This is such a fun park for the kids too.
This area is so cute and historic too. Across the street from this park there are antique shops as well. You can drive a block further and there is a snowcone shop too that has a cute oversized pink beach chair for photos.
Update: They added a huge tree and other decorations but the nutcracker men are no longer on the train.
Galveston Island: The Strand
Montrose Studios
Location: 3420 Rusk Street #16, Houston, TX
If you are looking for uber cute Christmas Installations, you have to schedule a visit at the Montrose Studios. Each season they set up the cutest installations for spring/ Mother’s day, Valentine’s day, Christmas and more.
They also offer paid in house photography or you can bring your own camera as well.
These pictures were taken last year. For times and pricing information you can find them here.

La Grange Bar
Location: 2517 Ralph, Houston, TX
This cute bar is located in Houston and has the cutest upstairs bar area which looks like Christmas threw up inside. That is the best description that I could come up with. It had vintage Christmas decor and the bar area was decorated as well. This was only in their upstairs area. I am uncertain if this area is open to the public or only available for rent, but you can at least take a cute picture outside of it if all else fails.
Cornelius Nursery
Location: 2233 S. Voss Rd. Houston, TX
Cornelius Nursery is a great place to pick up your favorite Christmas flowers and even Christmas Trees. It is also a very cute place for Christmas pictures in Houston. They have so much Christmas decor for you to shop from as well.
We took several pictures in the tree isles and in the shop area.
Grace Houston Church
Location: 14505 Gulf Fwy, Houston, TX
Grace Houston is located in South Houston towards Clear Lake. Each year they go all out on Christmas decorations! I feel like each year it gets better too. Inside you will find so many photo ops, some of them even have a ring light in front of them!
They have so many fun Christmas services as well. We love going to the tree lighting and the family sing a long night.
Last weekend of Renaissance Festival
Location: 21778 Farm to market 1774, Todd Mission, TX
If you haven’t been to the Texas Renaissance Festival you are missing out! Well, it was actually our first time to go last year but it was so fun and interesting! We went on the last weekend of the festival which happens to be Christmas themed!
All throughout the festival you will find Christmas decor. Christmas trees galore, giant nutcrackers, and more. Don’t forget to watch the jousting tournament while you are there!
Municipal Court: Deer Park
1302 Center St. Deer Park, TX
This is my best ‘kept secret’. If you live south of Houston you may know of this place but it’s mostly known by locals. There are so many cute photo ops during the Christmas season! That being said though, it gets really busy during the golden hours especially on the weekends. I would go on a weekday or early morning.
All of these pictures were taken over the years.
They have this wooden cabin that is there year round but during the Christmas season they decorate it so cute!! Here it is below.
They have a massive tree, massive ornaments, and a few other props that are fun to take pictures at.
Start these Christmas Traditions with your family this year.
Tiny’s Milk and Cookies
Y’all this set up is so cute! I am unsure how long this will be up but we went on 12/5/2020. It rained the day before so the boxes had evidence of that on them. Before we headed here for some goodies, we had our pictures taken in our pajamas right before. It ended up being cute since the boys already had their Christmas pjs on.
River Oaks District
The River Oaks District always has the grandest outdoor Christmas decorations. I have yet to take pictures here but it is on my to do list! You can find more information on the River Oaks District here.
City Place in Spring, TX
This year we also went to City Place in Spring, TX. It was so much fun! There are a lot of photo ops and free things to do. Be sure to check out their calendar of events here and plan a fun outing for your family. They have a cute gingerbread village, Lifesize scout elf’s, candy canes, and a snowman, plus more photo ops.
Watch my short video here to see everything.
Downtown Houston
Recently over the last 2 years the City of Houston has added some fun Christmas lights and photo ops in Downtown Houston. Starting near Mckinney st. just behind the Houston public library. You can walk a few blocks and take cute pictures at nighttime in front of these beautiful tunnels and more. There are also rows of trees with lights on them that would be cute for a picture as well.
Concluding thoughts:
If you are looking for the cutest most Instagrammable Christmas places in Houston, these are a must! The Montrose Studios, Helen Park, and Cornelius Nursery are just a few favorites. Each year I am on the hunt for new places to take pictures, as I find new ones I will add them to the list. These places are perfect for your Christmas card pictures, family pictures, or your Instagram styled shots.
